Sales Tips
Goals
– Most groups will improve overall sales by setting goals based on the overall fundraising objective. For example, if your 24 person group wants to raise $1000, it works out as a goal of only 7 candles each (assuming an average $6 profit per candle). Also, knowing why the fundraiser is taking place is very motivating.

Dates – It is always helpful to set specific dates for the fundraiser. This will allow the sellers to know exactly when to start and end selling, when the products will arrive, and when the money will be due. Normally 2-3 weeks works well for most groups.

Order Packets – The sales forms will be delivered to the fundraiser coordinator at least 2 weeks before the starting date of the fundraiser.

Promotions – If you group has a newsletter or access to announcements, be sure to promote the fundraiser before and during the sale. Also be sure to inform your group as to the results of your sale. Additionally, if your group is sponsored by a larger organization, provide a way for members of that organization to participate (i.e. a youth group at a church could have an order form available at weekend services.)

Ordering Process
Once the sale date has passed, each person should total their forms and forward to the fundraiser coordinator.
The coordinator then tally's all individual order forms and completes the Master Fundraising Summary,

The Fundraiser Coordinator submits the order to Gellite Candles Corp. with a check for the Total Amount Due from the summary. The check should be post-dated to 3 weeks after the agreed upon delivery date. Gellite Candles Corp. will hold the check until this date before depositing.

Delivery
Upon delivery, your candle order should be separated for distribution to individual sellers.
The seller delivers the candles to the end customer and collects payment.

If checks are received, they should be made out to the fundraising group, not Gellite Candles Corp.
Once moneys are collected, simply deposit them into the group's checking account to cover the post dated check that was sent with the order. The balance of the funds that were deposited is the groups profit and is available for use immediately.
